Establishment of the UNESCO EE-Net Southeast Asia: Our Mandate

The establishment of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) Southeast Asia Sub-Regional Secretariat is a direct outcome of the 10th UNESCO Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) Meeting held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on October 10-11, 2024. The outcome document from this meeting emphasized the necessity of creating sub-regional networks for entrepreneurship education to enhance collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

In response to this call for action, representatives from national chapters of the UNESCO EE-Net in Southeast Asia—including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia—reached a consensus to establish the Secretariat. This initiative aims to coordinate efforts in promoting entrepreneurship education across the region, aligning educational practices with sustainable development goals, and addressing real-world challenges faced by youth and communities. By fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, the Secretariat plays a crucial role in empowering individuals and driving economic growth throughout Southeast Asia.
