Dato’ Stephen Cheah met with Vice President Professor Yang Bin and other esteemed university leaders to convey the Crown Prince's personal commitment to co-establishing the 'Tsinghua University Southeast Asia-Gulf China Youth Leadership Forum' and the 'Global Youth Leadership Programme' (GYLP).

During the productive meeting, Vice President Professor Yang Bin responded positively to the proposal, expressing enthusiasm for the strategic value of the partnership. It was highlighted how these initiatives could enhance and build a vital network for elite youth and leaders across China, Southeast Asia, and the Gulf region. The potential impact on young people and their communities was a central point of the discussion.

"These programs are designed to cultivate a new generation of leaders," said a representative for the Crown Prince. "They will equip young people with the skills and mindset needed to tackle complex global challenges, fostering cross-cultural understanding and empowering them to drive positive change in their own communities."

The visit also included a tour of Schwarzman College, an experience described as inspiring. The visit reinforced the belief that Tsinghua's innovative approach to global leadership education makes it the ideal partner for this ambitious project.

Both parties agreed to an expedited timeline, with the goal of forming a joint working group immediately to finalize the next steps. The discussions were highly encouraging, with an eye toward a high-level meeting in December during the Crown Prince's upcoming visit to China.

This partnership is viewed as a strategic initiative to build a platform that fosters the next generation of global leaders, contributing to a more interconnected and harmonious world.
