Tsinghua University Hosts Crown Prince of Selangor

On December 2nd, 2025, His Highness Tengku Amir Shah, the Crown Prince of Selangor, Malaysia, paid a visit to Tsinghua University, Beijing. Prof. Qiu Yong, Secretary of the CPC Committee, received the Crown Prince and his delegation in the Main Building. The two sides held discussions on deepening bilateral cooperation and jointly witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Tsinghua University and the Asian Institute for Sustainable Development, Entrepreneurship and Diplomacy (AiSED). Prof. Yang Bin, Vice Chairperson of the University Council, also attended the meeting.
Prof. Qiu Yong welcomed the Crown Prince and provided updates on Tsinghua’s global strategy, the development of its overseas centers, and student cultivation initiatives. He underscored the university’s strong, existing cooperative ties with Malaysian institutions and actively encouraged more outstanding young Malaysians to pursue studies and exchanges at the university. Prof. Qiu expressed confidence that the MOU would establish a valuable platform for friendly exchange among the youth of both nations, fostering mutual understanding and cross-cultural communication. He looked forward to future cooperation in scientific research and technological innovation, thereby making significant contributions to China-Malaysia-Southeast Asia educational collaboration and regional peace and development.
Crown Prince Tengku Amir Shah conveyed his delight at visiting Tsinghua, one of the best universities globally. He shared his vision for initiating the "Global Young Leadership Program," noting his pleasure in collaborating with Tsinghua on the project. The Crown Prince emphasized that this joint effort would be key to enhancing mutual understanding and exchange among young people and contributing to the educational advancement of both countries.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Yang Bin and Dato' Steve Cheah (Chairman of AiSED and the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network Southeast Asia Chapter) formalized the MOU on behalf of their institutions. Following the ceremony, the Crown Prince participated in the China-Malaysia Youth Leadership Symposium held in the Main Building, engaging directly with attending faculty and students.
