Royal Audience at Sra Pathum Palace: Strengthening the Bond Between Global Diplomacy and Local Development in Thailand

BANGKOK – The AiSED Regional Secretariat, in its capacity as the secretariat for the Diplomatic Council International Secretariat (DCISE), is honored to report on the recent Royal Audience granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
On May 8th, 2024 Her Royal Highness—serving as the Honorary Chairperson and Patron of the Chaipattana Foundation—graciously received the Steering Committee of the Ambassadors' Ball 2024 at Sra Pathum Palace. This meeting underscored the powerful synergy between the international diplomatic community and Thailand’s premier development initiatives.
Philanthropy in Action: The Ambassadors’ Ball 2024
The Ambassadors’ Ball, a joint initiative by the Diplomatic Corps Thailand and the Diplomatic Council, successfully mobilized the regional diplomatic and business elite to support the Chaipattana Foundation’s charitable causes.
Strategic Presentation: H.E. Datuk Jojie Samuel, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Thailand and Ambassador of Malaysia, presented a donation of THB 1,029,814 to Her Royal Highness.
Recognition of Support: H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of Italy and Chair of the Organizing Committee, presented the official event booklet, highlighting the critical contributions of the sponsors and partners who made the gala a success.
Distinguished Attendance: The event was supported by 60 ambassadors, senior government officials, and prominent business leaders.
Advancing Global Initiatives: Education and Diplomacy
During the audience, leadership from the Diplomatic Council provided updates on high-impact regional programs:
Institutional Legacy: H.E. Nongnuth Phetcharatana, Member of the Board of Presidents, shared insights into the Diplomatic Council’s growth and its foundational history.
Mission Updates: Dato’ Steve Cheah (Dato' Stephen Cheah), Founder & Chairman of AiSED and Head of Mission for the Diplomatic Council, updated Her Royal Highness on key initiatives within Thailand and the Mekong region.
Key Pillars of Impact: These updates focused on Pitch@School, Diplomacy Meets Business activities, and the strategic work of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) Southeast Asia Chapter.
The Royal Audience concludes a productive chapter of collaboration, reinforcing AiSED’s commitment to regional harmonization, localization, and the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic diplomacy and entrepreneurship education.
